Framework components
The Maternal and Child Care Framework has a set of applications that facilitate data collection at source and near real-time analysis and visualization of data.
- The Mobile App is a key component of our framework. The platform facilitates any kind of new data collection input form to be created and rolled out.
- The Analytics platform facilitates analysis, visualization and presentation of data to various stakeholders and platforms.

Maternal and child care services
The Maternal Care application covers the entire gamut of services that a woman receives from the time she conceives till about 42 days post-delivery. These services include
- Registration and Past Obstetric History
- 4 / 6 Ante Natal Checks (ANCs) with information on (i) Weight (ii) Haemoglobin (iii) Blood Pressure (iv) Sugar (if done) (v) Urine Test (if done) (vi) TT Injection (if given) (vii) Iron & Folic Acid (IFA), Folic Acid and Calcium Tabs (if given) (viii) Abdominal examination
- Emergency / Routine Home Visits by the Health Workers and Referrals
- Delivery details, Outcome of Pregnancy & Counselling - Birth times, birth weight, birth defects, any complications during delivery
- 6 / 7 Home based newborn Care (HBNC) visits - monitoring of vital parameters of mother and newborn

Who are the users of the maternal and child care application?
The maternal and child care application can be used by the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifes (ANMs) at the sub-centres, Medical Officers (MOs) at the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and any other service provider(s)

The APP can be operated while being fully offline

Can the APP be customised?
The APP is fully compliant with the RCH Manual. However, it can be customized to meet specific needs

Do women get a unique id in the maternal and child care application?
Every woman is given a unique id in the maternal and child care application

How does the APP prevent entry of duplicate data?
The APP provides a facility to search for a woman in both offline and online data. Search is configurable and one or more of the following fields can be used
a. Name
b. Unique Id
c. Mobile Number
d. Any identity-based identifier -
What happens if the woman decides to change the SC / PHC post registration?
The woman can avail services at any SC / PHC. There is no restriction at the APP level. The service provider at the SC / PHC will be able to download her data online and update the necessary information

Does the APP provide for capturing multiple pregnancies?
Yes. Any number of pregnancies can be captured on the APP. The existing data of the woman is retrieved and the new Pregnancy data is added to the earlier information

Can ASHAs also use the maternal and child care application?
ASHAs can use the maternal and child care application to record the details of home visits

Can the ANM use the APP to plan their work day?
Yes, the ANMs can use the APP to plan various activities related to Maternal and Child Care. The APP simplifies the job of the ANMs. The dashboards in the APP help the ANMs to monitor high risk pregnancies, vaccination status of the women, missed ANCs, and so on

Can the maternal and child care application be extended to cover family planning and complete vaccination of children?
Yes. The current maternal and child care application can be easily extended to cover family planning and complete vaccination of children

Can the APP be used by private hospitals?
Yes. Private Hospitals can also use the APP

Who trains the end-users on the APP and the Analytics?
The APP and the analytics are both very simple to use and does not require very extensive training. Our team will train the master trainers who can then train the end-users. Digital training material is also shared with the end-users

How long does it take for the APP data to be available online?
The APP data will be available online as soon as it is synced to the server

The State uses other applications like RCH. Can it be integrated with those?
Yes. The APP can be integrated with external applications

We want to setup our own dashboards to measure specific indicators. Can we create our own dashboards?
The dashboards are fully configurable. The end users are trained to create their own dashboards

Can event based alerts be configured?
Yes. Alerts can be configured for various events such as still births, maternal deaths etc. Alerts can also be configured to give information on upcoming deliveries, high risk pregnancies etc.

What kind of infrastructure is required to run the application?
The APP and the analytics can be setup on the Cloud. Besides this, the end-users of the APP need to have an Android or an iOS device
